Claude in, Word out.

Claude has no Word export, and pasting an answer into Word leaves you with asterisks and pipes. Paste it here and download a real .docx: heading styles, real tables, editable equations. Free, no signup.

The next page shows the document first. The Word build runs on our server, which keeps nothing.

Copy the answer

Use the copy button at the foot of the Claude reply, not select-all. It hands over the answer as Markdown, with headings, tables, code, and equations intact.

Paste and check the document

The preview is the document: real headings, ruled tables, highlighted code, rendered equations. Fix anything before you download.

Download the .docx

Built with Pandoc in a few seconds. Headings become Word heading styles, equations become editable Office Math, and the file opens in Word, Google Docs, or LibreOffice.

What ends up in the document

In the answerIn Word
HeadingsWord heading styles, so the navigation pane and a table of contents work.
TablesReal Word tables with the alignment Claude specified — not tab-separated text.
Code blocksMonospace, shaded, syntax-coloured — including the code inside an artifact once you copy it out.
EquationsNative Office Math you can click and edit, not pictures. Claude's $…$ and \[…\] delimiters are both understood.
Bullet and numbered listsReal Word lists with nesting preserved.
Links and citationsLinks stay clickable; numbered [1] markers with a sources list become real footnotes in research mode.
Bold, italic, quotesCharacter and paragraph styles, so a later style change applies everywhere.

Common questions

How do I convert a Claude answer to Word?

Click the copy button at the bottom of the reply, paste into the box above, and click Convert to Word. The converter opens with the document rendered; download the .docx when it looks right. It is free and needs no account. For several answers, paste them one after another into the editor — they become one document.

Why does pasting straight into Word give me asterisks and pipes?

Claude formats its answers in Markdown. Word does not read Markdown, so the headings arrive as # lines, bold as **asterisks**, and tables as rows of | pipes. This page reads the Markdown and writes a real Word document, so every one of those marks becomes the formatting it stands for.

Are the equations editable in Word?

Yes. Formulas are converted to Office Math (the format Word's own equation editor uses), so you can click into them and change a symbol. If the server cannot build the file, the converter falls back to a document built in your browser, and tells you so.

Can I paste a Claude share link instead?

Not yet. Claude's shared conversations are served in a way our server cannot read, so the link import that works for ChatGPT and Gemini does not cover Claude. Copying the answer takes two clicks and loses nothing, because Claude's copy button hands over the Markdown.

What about an artifact?

Open the artifact, use its copy button, and paste. A document artifact arrives as Markdown and converts like any answer; a code artifact becomes a highlighted code block. The artifact's own download gives you the raw file, not a formatted document.

Does the answer leave my browser?

Only for the Word build itself: the text is sent once to our server, converted, and the temporary files are deleted after the request — nothing is stored or logged. PDF, HTML, and the preview never leave your machine.

Can I get a PDF or a Google Doc instead?

Yes, from the same paste. Switch the format in the converter, or start from the Claude to PDF page. HTML, EPUB, Excel for the tables, and a Google Docs handoff are there too.
