Gemini in, Word out.
Gemini exports to Google Docs, not to Word, and pasting an answer into Word leaves asterisks and pipes. Paste a public share link for the whole chat, or an answer, and download a real .docx: heading styles, real tables, editable equations. Free, no signup.

In Gemini: Share & export → Create public link, and paste the link below for the whole conversation. For a single answer, its copy button hands over the text with the formatting intact.
The preview is the document: real headings, ruled tables, highlighted code, rendered equations. Edit anything before you download.
Built with Pandoc in a few seconds. Headings become Word heading styles, equations become editable Office Math, and the file opens in Word, Google Docs, or LibreOffice.
What ends up in the document
| In the chat | In Word |
|---|---|
| Your prompts | Quoted blocks above each answer when you import the whole chat; leave them out with the answers-only option. |
| Headings, lists, bold | Word heading styles and real lists, so the navigation pane and a table of contents work. |
| Tables | Real Word tables with Gemini's column alignment — not tab-separated text. |
| Code | Monospace, shaded, syntax-coloured, long lines wrapped. |
| Equations | Native Office Math you can click and edit, not pictures. Gemini's $…$ and \(…\) delimiters are both understood. |
| Search sources | A shared chat's Google Search sources follow the sentences they support; research mode turns them into footnotes. |
| Canvas documents | Brought in from the share when it carries them; otherwise a note shows where the Canvas sat and how to paste it. |
| Images and uploaded files | Not part of what Gemini shares as text, so not in the document. |
Common questions
How do I convert a Gemini chat to Word?
Two ways. For the whole conversation: in Gemini open Share & export, create a public link, and paste it into the box above — the chat imports with your prompts as quotes and the answers verbatim, and the converter opens with Word pre-selected. For one answer: use the copy button under it and paste the text into the converter. Either way you see the document before downloading the .docx.
Isn't Gemini's Export to Docs enough?
Gemini can send an answer to Google Docs, and Docs can download a .docx. Along that route equations arrive as plain text, code loses its shading, and tables sometimes come apart; a long chat has to be exported one answer at a time. Here the equations become editable Office Math, code and tables stay what they are, and a share link brings the whole conversation in one go.
Which Gemini links work?
All three forms Gemini hands out: gemini.google.com/share/…, the short share.gemini.google/… link shown on the share page, and g.co/gemini/share/…. The chat must be shared as a public link; a private chat has no link to read.
Are the equations editable in Word?
Yes. Formulas are converted to Office Math (the format Word's own equation editor uses), so you can click into them and change a symbol. If the server cannot build the file, the converter falls back to a document built in your browser, and tells you so.
Is the conversation stored anywhere?
No. Our server asks Gemini for the shared text once, hands it to your browser, and keeps nothing — no copy, no log of the content. The Word build sends the text to our conversion service once, converts it, and deletes the temporary files after the request.
Can I get a PDF or a Google Doc instead?
Yes, from the same import. Switch the format in the converter, or start from the Gemini to PDF page. HTML, EPUB, Excel for the tables, and a Google Docs handoff are there too.
